Writer and historian Anna Beer takes us on a journey through the splendour of 17th-century Italy for this fascinating look at the women who dared to write music in a man’s world. Barbara Strozzi and Francesca Caccini are the featured composers struggling against societal norms and finally gaining the acknowledgement they deserve.
